Bakery Square Offices

Pittsburgh, East Liberty

Since the 1970’s the old Nabisco bakery sat empty in Pittsburgh’s East Liberty section. In 2007, construction began to revitalize the property into a multi-use commercial/retail center. Specified Systems was called upon to provide new thermally efficient aluminum windows, aluminum storefronts and entrances, and butt glazed aluminum curtain wall.

Introduced for this project was the new Traco NX380 fixed window system featuring low thermal conductive framing and PPG SOLARBAN® 60 low solar heat gain coefficient glazing. In all, over 750 windows were installed in the seven story building.

With the addition of a mixed use building that houses Urban Active Fitness, a parking garage, and a new Marriott Spring Hill Suites hotel, Specified Systems has installed over 40,000 square feet of windows, curtain wall, storefronts and doors, and miscellaneous glazing on the project.
